X Original Content Rewards: A Reseller's Guide

X Original Content Rewards: A Reseller's Guide

Updated: November 3, 2026

If you sell X (Twitter) services, you have probably had this message in your support inbox lately: "Will these impressions get me monetized?" The honest answer is no. Under X's new Original Content Rewards program, only qualified impressions count, and X explicitly excludes paid, promoted and artificially generated ones. Resellers who explain this clearly will keep their customers. Resellers who don't will be dealing with refund requests and angry reviews in a few weeks.

Below is what changed, what it means for the X services you list, and the exact wording we recommend for your service descriptions and support replies.

What X changed in its creator payouts

X closed its old Creator Revenue Sharing program on September 7, 2026 and replaced it with Original Content Rewards. The old program paid creators a share of the ads shown in the replies under their posts. The new one pays on how many qualified people actually saw the original post.

According to X's help page, a creator needs all of the following to apply:

  • An active X Premium, Premium+ or Premium Business subscription
  • At least 500 verified followers
  • At least 500,000 Home Timeline impressions from verified users in the last 90 days, with replies excluded
  • Age 18+, a supported country, an account in good standing, and a habit of posting original content

Payouts run every two weeks with a $30 minimum. X does not publish a rate per impression, so anyone quoting your customers an exact "per 1,000 views" figure is guessing.

What counts as a qualified impression

This is the part your customers misunderstand most. X defines a qualified impression as a unique impression from a Premium subscriber (Basic, Premium, Premium+ or Premium Business), on the Home Timeline, with at least 50% of the post visible on screen.

X's help page also lists what is stripped out before anything is counted:

  • Repeat impressions from the same account on the same post
  • Paid, promoted or artificially generated impressions
  • Fraudulent impressions

On top of that, the program's conduct rules forbid using automated tools or bots to generate likes, follows, views, comments or shares. An account that breaks those rules can be removed from the program, not just left unpaid.

Why this matters for X service resellers

X is one of the busiest categories on most panels: followers, likes, retweets, views, impressions, Space listeners. Demand from creators chasing payouts is real, and it is easy to sell into that demand with vague promises. The problem is what happens next.

1. Views and impressions services do not move the payout number

A customer who buys 100,000 impressions and then checks Creator Studio will see no change in their eligibility status. Those impressions are not from unique Premium users scrolling their Home Timeline, and X says artificial impressions are excluded. If your description implied otherwise, that customer is now asking for a refund.

2. "Verified followers" is not the same as a followers service

The 500-follower gate counts verified (Premium) followers only. A standard followers package, even a high-quality one with a 30-day refill, does not add verified followers. Be careful with any listing that hints it does.

3. Labels like "Monetization" can backfire

Plenty of panels list services with names such as "Analytics Views [Monetization]". After this change, a label like that reads as a promise. We recommend renaming these services to describe what they deliver (for example "Analytics Views") and moving any context into the description.

4. The risk sits with your customer's account

Because X can remove accounts that use automated engagement, a creator who is close to qualifying has the most to lose. That is exactly the customer who will blame the panel if something goes wrong.

What resellers should do this week

Rewrite your X service descriptions

Every X listing should say what it delivers, how fast, whether it has refill, and what it does not do. A simple line covers most cases:

"This service increases the visible count on your post. It does not generate qualified impressions for X Original Content Rewards and should not be used to meet monetization requirements."

Prepare a support reply you can paste

You will get the "will this get me monetized?" question again. Here is a reply you can adapt to your own tone:

"Good question. X only pays on qualified impressions: unique views from Premium users on the Home Timeline. Purchased views and impressions are not counted, so they won't help you reach the 500,000 requirement. Where our X services do help is social proof: a new post or a new account looks more established, which can make real visitors more likely to engage. If monetization is your goal, the main work is regular original posts and growing a Premium audience."

It costs you a sale today. It saves you a dispute, a chargeback and a bad review later.

Sell the use cases that still make sense

X services still have honest, everyday uses that have nothing to do with payouts:

  • Launching a new brand or product account so it doesn't look empty
  • Giving an announcement post early visible engagement before organic traffic arrives
  • Filling a Space with listeners for a scheduled event
  • Agencies keeping client accounts consistent while organic work runs in parallel

Write your listings and your promotions around these, not around "get paid on X".

Watch delivery and drops more closely

X runs regular sweeps against bot accounts, and every enforcement wave shows up as drops on some services. Check your refill-eligible X services after any platform news, and make sure customers know which listings are refill and which are not. Our guide on how 30-day refill works is a good link to send them.

Point creators to real growth content

Customers who want to monetize need a plan, not a package. Send them our creator-side guide, How to Qualify for X Creator Payouts in 2026, and our breakdown of why reading time now matters on X. A reseller who helps customers understand the platform gets repeat orders for the things that do work.

If you resell X services, our Twitter (X) SMM panel page lists the service types we provide directly, with start times, speeds and refill terms shown for each one.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do purchased impressions count toward X Original Content Rewards?

No. X counts only unique impressions from Premium users on the Home Timeline, and its help page says paid, promoted and artificially generated impressions are excluded.

Can a followers package help someone reach 500 verified followers?

Not in the way customers hope. The requirement is 500 verified followers, meaning Premium subscribers. Standard followers services do not deliver verified followers.

Should resellers stop selling X views and impressions?

No. They are still useful for social proof and launches. The change is in how you describe them: make it clear they are not a route to monetization.

How much does X pay per 1,000 impressions?

X has not published a rate. Payouts depend on qualified impressions and are paid every two weeks with a $30 minimum.

Can using engagement services get a creator removed from the program?

X's rules prohibit using automated tools or bots to generate likes, follows, views, comments or shares, and X says it may remove accounts that break the rules. Creators who are in the program, or close to applying, should keep that in mind.

The short version for your team

X now pays for real, Premium attention on original posts. Nothing a panel sells can manufacture that. Say so plainly in your listings and support replies, keep selling X services for what they are good at, and your customers will trust you when the next platform change lands.
